Influenza is widespread in our community.  Symptoms include:  sudden onset of fever, headache, body aches and chills and exhaustion.  This is quickly followed by upper respiratory symptoms like coughing, sore throat and nasal stuffiness or runny nose.  Please do not come to school if you have a fever above 100 and do not return until you have no fever for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.  WASH your hands frequently.  If you find there isn't enough hand washing supplies in the bathrooms notify your teachers so that a request can be made of the janitors.  Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.  Do not share drinks.  Keep a safe distance from your "neighbors".  Use good coughing technique.  If you need more information, see the school nurse or health assistant.
